You're right that kids really throw a wrench into the balance of a male/female partnership. I think it's something most mothers are unprepared for and a challenge specific to motherhood that is not widely understood or acknowledged. I was certainly thrown for a loop. My partner and I are in a much better place now, but it took 10 years!
