You raise some really good points here. I do think we're ultimately saying similar things. The point of the story was to ask women to support each other, as you mentioned, and to stop "buying into the misguided perceptions" that are "perpetuated by the patriarchy." I don't in any way believe it should fall on us to unilaterally solve the problem, but we'll never make any headway if we're too busy making snarky comments about each other.
