Yes, it's definitely solvable. I don't think teachers need any more on their plate, and kids don't necessarily need more time sitting in a classroom, but there are plenty of ways schools could keep kids engaged after 3 p.m. and during the summer if they had the resources.

And yep, I studied abroad in Bolivia during college, then went back to explore a number of other South American countries. Hope to take my kids someday!
