Yes, I think the traditional white male definition of leadership is often at odds with what we need from true leaders. We don't need overconfidence and an unwillingness to be vulnerable, humble, or admit mistakes. I've had horrific experiences with both men and women who subscribe to this notion of so-called leadership. The (white male) CEO of my current company represents the antithesis of this leadership style, and it makes all the difference! I hope more men will continue to challenge these toxic white patriarchial norms. In the meantime, it's up to us to find the true leaders and to embody true leadership qualities ourselves!
