YES! Exactly. I think it's so sad when our sweet, sensitive, emotionally vulnerable boys grow up and feel pressured to protect themselves with these hard "masculine" exteriors. I saw it happen to my 22yo stepson and I'm trying to figure out what we can do better with my son.
