Yep, I definitely respect each couple's choices. What I'm seeing though is that childfree weddings are "trending," so to speak, and once something is trending, it becomes less about individual choice and more about what everyone else is doing. This particular trend just reinforces a broader societal trend that says we can only socialize and have fun in our own little boxes. The lack of opportunities for multigenerational interaction is actually bad for us -- it's proven to decrease both empathy and cognitive function. Weddings are only a piece of the puzzle, but they are highly visible and one more way we're being told to stay in our lanes.
