This resonated so much for me! I just wrote a story on Medium this week called "Gender Fluidity Makes Perfect Sense to My Six-Year-Old." It just doesn't cause the same soul-searching in kids as it does for adults who have been socialized their whole lives to believe that gender is binary and immutable. I don't have a lot of hope these days in general, but seeing kids embrace the concept of "they" and casually accepting other kids who prefer they pronouns seems to me the most powerful way to dismantle the patriarchy over time.
