This is a great question that highlights the lack of support infrastructure in our country for working families. School buses do still exist, but if your child is under 5 and goes to private preschool (since there aren't yet public preschool options and which you have to pay for out of pocket), you're out of luck. And, if your school-aged kid needs before/after care (which you also have to pay for out of pocket) since school hours and work hours are not at ALL aligned, you're also out of luck. Next year, both my children will be able to walk to the same school, it will be heaven!
