Thanks for reading! I'm still a relative newbie to the cooperative ecosystem and am still learning myself, but my impression is that most cooperatives are very much about sustainable growth and thus not looking for the huge influxes of cash that big tech and other large companies are. There are lots of savvy questions being asked in the cooperative community about the "gospel of growth" and the detrimental social/economic effects of the huge companies so much of America has become so enamored by.

Our company is consistently highly profitable, debt-free, and we grow intentionally, sometimes turning down clients because we don't want to expand too haphazardly or risk burning out our team. I do think we need more fundraising options for cooperatives, particularly start-up cooperatives. Even bank loans can be tricky because it's not a well-understood ownership structure in the United States.

As far as selling back our shares, we're able to do that at any time if we decide we no longer want to be a co-owner, and we're required to do so if we leave the company.

If you're interested in learning more, the best book I've read so far is "Companies We Keep": https://www.amazon.com/Companies-We-Keep-Ownership-Community/dp/160358000X
