No confusion here -- "husband" and "partner" should be interchangeable.

Unfortunately, they often aren't, which is why I write "a lot" about gender equity in marriage.

Fortunately, my husband/partner and I have worked a lot on this. Of course, given that we live in a society in which gender inequity is the default, it's a work in progress.
