Kindness is indeed one of the most important things. And you're right, it's a tough balance. I grew up thinking I wasn't particularly attractive (not ugly, just not beautiful), and that wasn't a walk in the park, either. I just think the more we as a society can de-emphasize female beauty as a valued attribute, the better off we'll all be.
