It certainly is a constant struggle. I feel like I have a good sense of what my kids need (limited screen time, free play outdoors, incremental independence to roam) but sometimes I feel like I'm doing it in a vacuum. My kids are constantly playing in our front yard, but there are kids on our street who we never see. They will start walking to school this year, but I never see other kids walking without an adult. We're holding off on cell phones for as long as we possibly can, but then my daughter complains about being left out. I'm glad we're at least talking more about these issues and recognizing that recent parenting trends are not necessarily benefitting our children. Thanks for the read!
