I'm not shaming or blaming anyone for using the term, nor am I even suggesting a better alternative. Am I offended when people refer to themselves as childfree? Absolutely not. Do I feel they're infringing on my personal comfort? Absolutely not. Do I wish the term didn't reinforce a widening divide between our "childfree" and "child-friendly" worlds, which negatively impacts my health and well-being, and that of my many childfree friends? Absolutely.
