I'm laughing out loud at this.

…were miserable, my friends’ parents were miserable, and that was pretty much all the adults I knew. I didn’t know that happy adults were even a thing until I went to college and met people from Oregon.

I'm laughing out loud at this. I grew up in California and currently live in Oregon. I didn't know that adults could be so miserable until I went to college on the East Coast!
