I hear you. I'm grateful my daughter is incredibly tall and has an athletic build (i.e. hopefully more intimidating), but as parents we can't really control these things. And I'm also torn between my desire for her to be able to express herself (like wear the short shorts if that's what she's feeling!) and my desire to protect her. There aren't any clear answers.
