I do understand and respect how you feel. And you're right that our relationship has layers of complexity neither of us would have to confront if we'd married within our race. For us, the soul searching has made us both more curious and empathetic people, and has given us access to a wealth of beautiful experiences we wouldn't have otherwise had. But I totally get why someone would want to marry a person with shared ancestors, struggles, and culture, and certainly don't hold it against them!
