I absolutely agree there are intricacies to the economic of pro sports that are beyond the scope of this article. But the point is that even if a few elite women achieve some level of pay parity in historically male dominated fields, their contributions to the economy still largely benefit men and their pay parity does nothing to force us to reevaluate the inherent "worth" of historically female fields. That applies to female athletes, Fortune 500 CEOs, doctors, scientists, etc etc regardless of the economic nuances of their fields.
I love that you've played pick-up basketball for so long! My goodness, if my daughter could just play pickup games after school at a neighborhood court, I would go for that in a second! (Lots less driving for me, too!)
