Hear hear! I wrote such a such a similar (though less nuanced) story a few weeks ago (I Am a 40-Year-Old Woman, and I Give Zero Fucks). In fact, in it I stated, "Silence and smiles got me nowhere" -- we are aligned! I know I'm a 40s newbie but I've found them very liberating so far. I know I have a right to my anger and I'm no longer invested in pleasing people, particularly men. Our rage will change everything, and it's us "irrelevant" middle-aged women who will lead the charge!
