Ha! I think this is inevitable to some extent. My best times with my parents these days (especially my mother) are on "neutral" territory, i.e. not at my house or their house, where I find it's easiest for my mom to relax and not nag. The nagging takes me right back to being an eye-rolling kid, and I'm sure she feels the same way when she sees my stuff strewn about!
